St Arvans Remembers

This coming weekend there are a number of Events in St. Arvans to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the end of hostilities in WWI.

On Friday 9th November, David Priddis will give an Illustrated Talk “St. Arvans Remembers WW1” the results of his four year research into those who served – See poster, below

On Sunday the 10.00am Service at St. Arvans will be followed by an Act of Rembrance at 11 am in St. Arvans Church.

Commencing at 2.30pm there will be exhibitions and Events in the St. Arvans Memorial Hall which was built as the Village Memorial to WWI – see poster

St. Arvans Church “Open Weekend” 5th – 6th May

St. Arvans Church is holding a series of Events over the weekend of 5th and 6th May to mark Rogationtide.

The Church will be open with

  • Children’s activities
  • Plant Sale
  • Guided walk/talks outlining the history of this Norman origin Church; its Celtic Cross;  the periods of building;  connections with the Slave Trade, War heroes…..
  • Pets Blessing
  • Rogationtide walk to other Churches in our Group……..
